We were pleased to (once again) be a part of one of Liverpool City Council's favourite yearly festival, Eat Your Heart Out! We provided free face painting services at the festival to anyone interested and we sure were busy! Adults and children were both excited to have their faces or hands painted.

After the success of last years festival, the council put on an even bigger and better festival for all the attendees. With a slight change in location (from the park to the street), this free festival successfully celebrated all things food and creative culture.

Railway Street was beautifully lit and coloured with fairy lights, public art, carnival games and stalls. There were many stalls at the festival that showcased a variety of designer/homemade goods and it was so amazing to see everyone come together with their small businesses. The food was also very good! Many of Liverpool's favourite eateries came to join in on the fun with their food trucks.

The day was brilliant and we had an absolute blast painting away. We would like to thank Liverpool City Council for inviting us back - we love working with you guys!

Wow, we cannot believe it is now nearly March! This year is already flying by and so are our paints...! We wanted to put together a post to share with you with our most favourite split cake to date. We also want to share with you our favourite design that has been requested so many times this year already!! We do have to add... it's a pretty awesome design and you will LOVE it!

We are currently obsessed with the Sunset Splitcake by TAG. How divine are the bright colour combinations... which might I add look absolutely incredible on the skin. This 50g pot of magic paint offers our artists endless possibilities of designs... from wonderfully bright butterflies to the more obvious sunset design incorporated with batman! The little dudes love the colour combination with the black superhero.

There's a lot of fun playing around with different designs with the same split cake and our artists always smash it and produce the most amazing work in Sydney and the whole of Australia! Some girls love the idea of becoming a princess for 1 day - it's very special for them and they can feel a little grow up by getting dressed up and wearing a special tiara. Let your daughter choose her favourite princess and decorate using the colours that the chosen princess wears. Send out princess invitations and let your daughters friends come in whatever princess costume they desire! To add to the fun, let them indulge in some girly activities. It can be a princess party for all princesses!

As a parent, you might be concerned about what type of face painting is used by Creative Faces artists during parties and other events. We understand that paint can seem like a harsh medium to use on soft and delicate kids skins, so we wanted to provide you with the details to what paint is used so you can feel much better about allowing your kids to have face painting done at parties.

Creative Faces used only water-based, hypo-allergic FDA approved brands of paint and glitter that have been checked thoroughly. Our face painting artists are very familiar with these brands and use only the best quality in order to make sure no paint, glitter or other material will hurt or irritate your little ones skin.

Please be careful with other face painting businesses that offer you very cheap quotes. They will most likely be using the cheap, nasty face paints that are not FDA approved and will definitely be harsh on your kids delicate skin. The harsh paints can cause skin iterations and allergies, something that is not ideal after a fun day at a party or celebratory event!

Our artists at Creative Faces always get asked how to clean the face paint off their kids arms and faces. Many parents are concerned about the paint and the difficulty of removal from the skin and clothing. Today we decided to write a blog post for parents to help them with the entire cleaning process. It's easier than you think!

Our artists work with face paints quite frequently (obviously!) and constantly have it on their hands and somethings on their clothing and even their faces and hair (ops!). You will be surprised to know that the high quality face paints used by our artists are incredibly easy to remove, even after a day of wear.

So how do you do it?!

To remove paint on the face on hand, you can use one of the following:

1. Makeup or Baby wipes

Simply use 1 or 2 makeup/baby wipes to wipe away the paint. (You can rinse off with water after wiping for a more thorough clean.) The wipes method works really well, and this is the method artists use to wipe away any mistakes they make whilst face painting, or to clean their hands whilst painting. The paint just comes right off!

2. Warm water, soap and a face/hand towel

Use a damp face/hand towel to wash and wipe away the paint. This method works really well too.

3. Warm water and soap

This is a great method for hand/arm face painting designs. Simply wash hands and arms in the skin with warm water and soap. As the face paints are water based, the paint will come off right away!

There are some colours that stick to the skin more often than others as a result of the strong pigmentations. Red, dark green and dark blue are 3 of the colours that tend to have a deeper pigmentation and therefore can sometimes stain the skin ever so slightly (depending on skin tones). Do not worry about this stain! It will come out with a few washes. Our artists never have stained fingers so this is evidence that the paints come out very easily!

The FDA approved high quality paints that our artists use are the best in the industry and will not damage the skin. They are designed to work on a variety of skin times and do not cause any discomfort or allergies to the skin.

5. The request to have a 'rainbow' something is a very common occurrence during face painting jobs! Boys and especially girls always ask for rainbow designs, and they always get excited when they see the rainbow split cakes.

3. Spider man is a very popular design with the boys, probably the most popular out of all the superheros! The design is a simple red/black/white colour scheme with several variations of web and spider designs. It can be easily adaptable into larger or smaller designs on the face or the arm. The boys love this one! Boys also love to get spiders on their arm... this is a very common design if the kid wants a spiderman design but doesn't want a face paint on their face. It's a quick and easy design and the boys (sometimes girls too) love!

2. The butterfly face paint is the most common with the girls, however there are the few boys who love a funky butterfly face paint design! It's always such a nice surprise when that happens. The lovely butterfly design is so adaptable with colour, shape and design, it's one of those designs that can be repeated over and over again with many variations without getting old!
